Payments FAQ

🎉 From the earliest days of Clubhouse, a guiding principle has been to build a platform that puts the creator first. Our aim is to help creators build community, audience, and impact.
As Clubhouse continues to scale, it’s important to us to align our business model with that of the creators—helping them make money and thrive on the platform.

🎬 Getting Started

What is Payments?
We’re thrilled to offer Payments to all users on the platform - our first monetization feature on Clubhouse. We are super excited to continue releasing additional features to Payments in the future!
How do I send Payments?
To send a payment on Clubhouse:
  1. Just tap on the profile of a creator (who has the feature enabled) and tap "Send Money". This will only be enabled if either the sender follows the recipient or both users were in the same channel in the last 10 days.
  1. Enter the amount you would like to send them. The first time you do this, you’ll be asked to register a credit or debit card.
  1. 100% of the payment will go to the creator. The person sending the money will also be charged a small card processing fee, which will go directly to our payment processing partner, Stripe. Clubhouse will take nothing.

How do I set up payments on my account?
To enable payments, start by navigating to your profile, and tapping the gear icon in the upper right corner. If payments have been enabled for your account, you will see a Payments menu, listed under Interests. If you have not yet set up payments, you will be prompted to create or connect an account with our partner Stripe. Once your account is connected, you’re set up to receive payments!
As a creator, how do I thank my fans who have paid me?
You can see a list of all users who have paid you on your profile. The community norm is for creators to thank everyone who gives them money, which you can do from that page.
