New User Orientations — Wednesdays at 6 PM PT. Each week Paul, Rohan and Anu host a "Welcome to Clubhouse” session! These used to be reserved for "newbies" but are now open to everyone in case you didn't get to attend the session the week you joined and still want to learn the ropes. We give you a tour of Clubhouse, share some best practices, and answer your questions!

Clubhouse Town Halls — Sundays at 9 AM PT. We'll let you know what's on our mind and answer your questions, timed to be inclusive of our international users! 🌎

Ask someone! Fellow Clubhouse users are great resources for questions you may have, and usually will go out of their way to help — don't hesitate to ask, and then pay it forward!

How do I invite people to Clubhouse?

There are a number of ways to invite your friends, colleagues, and community to Clubhouse!

📲 Download the App. The easiest way is for your friend to download the latest version of the Clubhouse App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Once they download it, they can make an account and start joining you in conversations!

💬 Send them an Invite. You can invite your friends by selecting the envelope located on the top of your screen.

♣️ Expand your club! If you are the creator of a club, you can select Invite People to start having people join your club.

Can I take back an invite or redirect it once sent?

We, unfortunately, cannot cancel, rescind, or redirect invites once sent, so we ask that you check with invitees before sending that they're interested in joining and that you have the correct phone number.

How can I start a club?

We’re excited to announce that you can now create clubs directly in the app! 🎉 We want to thank everyone for their patience while we’ve worked to make this feature more accessible.

Here’s how to get your club set up in-app:

Navigate to your profile page and scroll to the “Member of” section near the bottom.

There you will see a “+” sign to the right of your last club badge (note: if you’re a member of many clubs, you’ll have to scroll to the end of your club list to locate the plus).

Tap the icon, and create your club!

Note that you will only be able to create one club at a time and you won’t be able to delete a club directly in-app, so choose wisely and be thoughtful!

Can I change my username (@handle)?

We get a lot of requests from people who would like to change their username so we built the ability to do that in the app!

Updating Your Username

Go to your profile

Click on your Username

You will be prompted to insert your desired new username

Note: If you cannot update your username, you may have done it too recently. Please try again in a couple of days.

Can I change my name?

Clubhouse is a real name service, but occasionally people enter their names incorrectly when signing up. Don't worry, there is a way to update your name!

📌 Helpful Tips

We will still enforce our Real Name Policy as included in our Community Guidelines, but understand there may be errors, shortened names (e.g. Matt vs. Matthew), etc. that could be important to you!

Do you go by stage name or creator name?

If you are an artist who is publicly known by another name, you can now add a Creator Alias to your profile so that people in rooms with you can see you by that name.

📌 Make sure your Creator Alias is entered correctly as you cannot change it.

Can I change the phone number on my account?

We unfortunately do not have a way to change the phone number on an account right now. We're working on making it possible to keep your account or transfer it in upcoming releases. Here's some additional info to help right now:

If you’re able to keep access to both phone numbers at once, we’re hoping to be able to manually change it for you soon and will have more info on this soon.

If you've already lost access to the old phone number, we unfortunately wouldn't be able to transfer your old account to your new phone number.

The fastest way to make sure you still have access to Clubhouse if your phone number changes is to create a new account (it will be a blank slate!). Reminder that we have a one person - one account policy, so maintaining two accounts is against our guidelines.

How do I add or remove the flag icon on my profile picture?

For the duration of the Tokyo Olympics, we've added a fun little feature where you can add a special badge representing your country to your avatar. Just put your chosen flag emoji in your profile and it'll follow you around Clubhouse whenever you show up in a room.
